This is a good coffee maker that doesn't use a nasty paper filter. The coffee is rich and smooth, with more flavor than your average drip coffee makers.
Negative Product Points
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but on the model I have, when I flip it over, it spits out a stream of extremely hot water for about 10 seconds then stops. I don't know what it does that for, but I doubt they all do this. The brewer does get hot, so use your head.
Detailed Commentary
I really like the coffee from this brewer. This is my coffee maker of choice for drip coffee. You have control over the temperature (thank you!) so you don't have to have scorched or sour coffee. I can't stand paper filters, so this is a great way to get more flavor in your drip-style coffee. I haven't had a french press in years, so I have not done a side by side comparison, but I would say that the french press may be a slightly better coffee maker. That said, I haven't broken my Neapolitan. O.T., but have you ever noticed how uncoordinated a person can be when they haven't had their coffee yet, I have burned myself, broken my french presses and coffee cups, ect. If for some reason you don't like french press pots, then this is probably the best drip style coffee maker that I know of.
