The Cafetino is truly a thing of beauty. It is always a conversation point when someone sees the machine make coffee for the first time. The materials are first class, making good vac coffee is easy and a real event. Patrick, you're a marvel!
Negative Product Points
Cleaning is not very quick, though neither is it a major hassle. I find it a bit of a pain having to wiggle the stainless tube off before you can pour the coffee - again a minor niggle.
Detailed Commentary
The Cafetino is easy to use to consistently produce great coffee. The instructions supplied are clear and really all you need to get started. The burner uses methylated spirit (that's what we call it here in the UK anyhow) but you're wise to start with hot water in the tank. Once the water boils you are in for a real spectacle, it boils over through a tube to the glass where the ground coffee awaits. Once brewed the vacuum created sucks the coffee back ito the tank and you're ready to pour. Use well roasted coffee (just after second crack), and grind close to espresso (about 5 or 6 on MDF for me). The quality and design of the Cafetino is such that I'm pretty convinced it will be a source of joy for many years to come. Even if I broke the glass I bet Patrick would have one over to me from Belgium in a week. I would recommend buying one of these beauties to anyone. You won't regret it.
