You're not paying attention if you like the taste of Moka Pot Coffee. Or perhaps your taste buds have atrophied.
Positive Product Points
Very fast. Makes 2 cups in 2 1/2 minutes. Jaunty octagonal design not bad for inexpensive coffee pot.
Negative Product Points
Overwhelming taste of metal. This pot is aluminum. I just bought a stainless steel Bialetti Venus. But the stainless pot has the same metallic taste. The gas flame on my stove is wider than the pot. To avoid burning or melting the handle I can only turn the gas up to 3/4 strength.
Detailed Commentary
At first I didn't really notice the metallic taste in the coffee. But now that I notice it I realize it's always been there. No amount of sugar/milk/cocoa powder/Hersheys syrup can hide the metallic taste. (I mainly use this moka pot to make cappuccinos.) The grey corrosion on the bottom of the pot can't be cleaned. Somewhat of negative point, but the corrosion doesn't seem to make the coffee taste better or worse. Eleven reviews on this site and not one mention of metallic taste. Is someone censoring all uncomplimentary reviews?
