Relatively inexpensive, considering it's a burr grinder. Grinds finely enough for my lever machine.
Negative Product Points
Plasticky casing. Silver-painted plastic control knob - the paint wears off this quickly. Grounds cling to inside of receptacle due to static.
Detailed Commentary
My machine is labelled as "Dualit", but is manufactured by Solis and is identical to the "Starbucks" machine. Dualit is rather better known for their toasters and high-quality catering equipment. Though perfectly functional, the finish of this little grinder doesn't live up to the standard of the 13 year-old Dualit toaster on my worktop.
Having shelled out so much on my La Pavoni, I was a little reluctant to spend too much on a grinder. However, I did learn from reading up on grinders that I needed a burr machine, and the Dualit seemed to fit the bill at a reasonable price.
I've read other reviews here about owners having to tinker with this grinder to get it to grind beans for espresso. I don't know whether there is some variability in quality between individual grinders or Solis have changed their specification, but my grinder is capable of grinding beans finely enough to "blind" my portafilters. I even have to set the grind to a stop or two off maximum to prevent this.
