If you can find a used one for 1/2 price great, otherwise get the Solis Maestro
Positive Product Points
Good even grind. Moderate grind range.
Negative Product Points
Poor chute dispensing do to vertical travel. I always literally beat it on the counter to get the 3gr or so of grinds unstuck, every grind! A pain. Higher speed than 166, more static. New Maestro far superior.
Detailed Commentary
It was far superior to my 10 year old Braun burr grinder. I'd purchased a Capresso Burr grinder to replace (was much cheaper than the then available Solis Mulino 177) it but was very dissatisfied and ordered the Solis Mulino 177 a week later. Good even grinder, noisy & messy to use. For me it was an okay trade off compared to poor grinding of cheaper burr grinders. If I had it to do again I'd have purchased the Solis 166 (marketed in the US by Starbucks) instead. I now have the Solis Maestro. Much quieter, cleaner operating, wider grind range, way less grinds left in chute...
Buying Experience
Ordered online from Sweet Maria's no problem. (My main greens source...)
