A prosumer level espresso grinder that has been on the market since 1991. Grinder has seen changes cosmetically since introduction, now featuring steel side panels. Features professional burrs and motor inside. At $380 (Feb '09) the price is on the high side.
Robert Turner (quality: 5.3)
Bottom Line: I see why it's so popular and why so many people devote their time to make it even better.
Corey Diamond (quality: 6.8)
Bottom Line: The Rocky is a good quality grinder, however I think the factory should be more careful with quality control.
S Hanson (quality: 7.0)
Bottom Line: Best pro-level grinder in this price range (get the doserless, not the doser, model--even though doser looks better)
Darren L. (quality: 7.8)
Bottom Line: Excellent grinder
Scott Smith (quality: 4.3)
Bottom Line: An excellent grinder if you buy the doserless unit.
Jerome Harrison (quality: 7.3)
Bottom Line: Looks good on the counter, but cannot produce a reliable grind. Pass on this grinder.
Endo Smith (quality: 7.1)
Bottom Line: There is a real need for a simple, solid grinder in the $300 range that fits between the cheaper Baratza models and the more expensive Mazzers. Unfortunately, the Rocky is not it.
Andre Preoteasa (quality: 4.0)
Bottom Line: Drop another $100 on a Mazzer and forget the Rocky if you're serious about espresso.
Henry Townsend (quality: 1.8)
Bottom Line: Makes good coffee, but the machine broke down too quickly and it is taking far too long to get repaired.
Michael Nelson (quality: 6.7)
Bottom Line: Good basic construction, with several design defects and poor Q.A. at the factory
