Detailed Commentary
First of all, the gear reduction allows this machine to run continually for hours. At high volume cafes, this is a huge asset, especially if you have had a Super Jolly or Major overheat and need some quite time to figure itself out. That is the biggest positive! Like all the Mazzers I have worked with, it has a great adjustment lever, nice smooth doser, and is relatively easy to clean/work on/change burrs.
The biggest detriment, like all the Mazzers I have used, Mini thru to Robur, is the spring in the doser. It is a fairly low grade appearing, spiral torsion type spring, that breaks in a very similar place time after time. Not very likely in a Mini (you are not dosing hundreds of shots a day) but in the big boy, the Robur, you see it happen sometimes with alarming frequency.
