For less than $30, a step up from a blade grinder-don't use for espresso.
Positive Product Points
Used for daily grinding for a vac pot which is fairly forgiving with small variations in grind. I just dump in beans, push the button and get the same grind each time. Really convenient in the early morning when stumbling around half asleep.
Negative Product Points
Will NOT grind fine enough for good espresso machines - don't expect it to. Some plastics are better than others when it comes to static. The maker couldn't have picked a worse plastic for having static problems.
This is a nice machine which cost me less than $30.00, new. For the price, I get a machine that I can get that fresh grind each morning without having to play with it. Changing beans is easy and cleaning requires a damp towel for most parts. Cleaning around the bottom burr is a small problem. However, I believe I got what I paid for - an easy to use, fairly consistent general grinder that does the job I expect it to day after day. For my espresso, I use the Solis Maestro and like the convenience that having two machines gives me.
Amazon.com has been great to deal with every time. I just make a few clicks and the product comes to the door. 30 day return policy is nice but didn't use on this product.
Three Month Followup
I have passed on this grinder to friends who had a whirley bird grinder. They use it daily for grinding their daily drip ciffee. They say they really like it and it does a great job for what they use it for. Their comment is that they like the timer feature. They can put in beans, dial in the amount they need and it will grind the amount they want - no measuring, no fuss. This grinder is still an inexpensive step up from a whirley bird. Be warned, it is just a small step up. I cannot recemmend this for any type of espresso machine if consistency and fine grind is desired.
