Extremely pleased I made this upgrade, and I know I'll never, ever need another, better grinder. This is it!
Positive Product Points
A big step up from the Rocky. Immediately delivered a superior cup, once I 'dialed it in' after a thorough cleaning. It grinds about 3 times faster than Rocky 4 or 5 times faster than the Gaggia MDF. Fits easily under the standard 18 inch counter, with no special 'cut-down' hoppers.
Negative Product Points
Louder than the Rocky, but that was to be expected.
Detailed Commentary
After careful study of the semi-commercial offerings out there: the Mazzers, the Rossi, etc. etc., I was lucky to discover a Junior grinder on ebay. I would never have spent over $600 for a Junior, new.
I found the styling very appealing along with the many other features: large grounds catch tray, variable doser, and a high capacity bean hopper. The vernier control of the grinder burrs which are 64 mm. is just amazing! It uses a detented worm gear drive knob to control the grind.
Everything about the Junior is tight, smooth, massive and reeks of quality. No reason this grinder could not be used in any commercial setting.
Buying Experience
From an excellent ebay seller in Canada, who was very cooperative and helpful in every way. He was the original owner, and the amazing counter on the doser handle showed only 6800 pulls!, meaning about 1 cup per day for the 10 years he owned it. Thus, this Jr. is barely broken in!
Three Month Followup

One Year Followup
Too noisy. Wife's complaints of the noise became even louder than the grinder after a while. So away it went on eBay for $350.00 to a happy new owner. Got a new Mazzer mini -- deelighted! ( and psst! --Blessed quiet!)
