It works great for me, and that's all that's important.
Positive Product Points
Simple to use, fairly easy to keep clean, small footprint.
Negative Product Points
Needs an ocassional shake when feeding oily beans; barely grinds coarse enough for presspots.
Detailed Commentary
I've had this grinder about three weeks now, and I like it. It's not the best out there, of that I am sure. However, it does a very good job for the money. It is noisy, but no more so than most grinders in its price range. It does have static, but this is actually a blessing for this grinder. Though it grinds very consistently, there is the ocassional fine dust that gets kicked out. These dust particles are fine enough to be kept clinging to the plastic resevoir near the top so that I can easily brush them out into the sink before emptying the grounds.
As for the quality of the grind, it is very good. Mine is actually capable of grinding somewhere between fine espresso and turkish. It barely grinds coarse enough for presspot, and if you are totally averse to any small amount of silt in your presspot, you may wish to look elsewhere. I have yet to produce a bitter cup of coffee with this grinder.
Cleaning is fairly easy, as the stationary burr simply unlocks and twists out. When grinding espresso, be sure to empty out the hopper and blow the fine particles out of the burrs if you plan to go immediately to a coarse setting, otherwise you may end up with some finer particles than you want mixed in.
Overall, I have found that the Krups does every bit as good a job as grinders twice the price. As for how long it will last with daily use, only time will tell. But I am happy with it, and I have plenty money left over for lots of great coffee.
Buying Experience
I like Bed Bath and Beyond for their no questions asked return policy, great overall experience.
