The quality of operation and build make this grinder a good investment
Positive Product Points
-consistent grind -built to last lifetime -looks great -no static glass bin -well written product manual
Negative Product Points
-at times coffee seems to cling to bottom of bin (no, does not appear to be static) -should be a stepless grind process rather the detents -traps a good amount of grounds internally
Detailed Commentary
-This grinder does a very good job grinding drip coffee. The grind is consistent.
-The biggest negative is the lack of an infinite or stepless grind adjustment. There are fixes to make an infinite adjustment but be warned this will negate your warranty if Kitchen Aid notices. If Kitchen Aid would add this feature this would be the best bargin grinder period even with a slight increase in price.
-I have had this grinder for about a year. There have been no operational problems. From the build and the powerful grinding sound it produces I expect more of the same for many more years
Clean-up is well explained in the product manual. Grounds get trapped in the burrs and other internal parts. The grinder comes with a fairly useful brush to clean the interior of the grinder.
