Can't imagine you can get a better quality to dollar ratio with any other grinder
Positive Product Points
Very neat, stylish and practical. Most importantly a very economical way to get a reasonably fine grind as I find my feet in this new espresso adventure.
Negative Product Points
Takes longer to grind (naturally - it's manual). No markings on the adjustment nut to use as a reference. The 1 cup and 2 cup guides on the side are a lot more than 7g and 15g quantities I am using at the moment. These are all very small quibbles though about an excellent quality and even better value product.
I'm a newbie and my aging Krups burr grinder was not delivering at the finer end of the spectrum. I'm also a tight-wad and was loath to blow hundreds of $'s (or £'s to be accurate) on a gadget without due reason. Step forward the Hario Ceramic which I had read was a hand grinder you could rely on. For less than £20 I was sold. It has not disappointed either. As a newbie please take my comments on quality with a large pinch of salt but the grind was visibly far more consistent and finer than my old Krups. First box ticked. It is completely idiot-proof (second box ticked) the only thing you can do wrong is wind the handle the wrong way. It is very easy to adjust using the nut on the bottom of the grinder section but without any visual clues very much a process of trial and error to get the grind setting right. It takes me just over 3 minutes to grind 15g. I don't drink more than 3 or 4 a day so that's OK for the time being. For more serious quaffers it probably wouldn't do.
I will be buying an electric grinder before long now I know coffee is unlikely to be a passing fad but will keep the Hario as well as I like the gadget, it will be great for travelling especially with something like an Aeropress and also for when I have a bit of time and want to enjoy the ritual and get a small workout at the same time.
Easy. Put it on my Amazon Wish List and someone got it for me for Christmas! So can't comment on vendor themselves but it was requested, bought, shipped, wrapped and received within a reasonably short time frame pre-Xmas
