Similar Items Owned: Baratza Encore
Bottom Line: Not perfect, needs design modifications, functions well if you can live with disassembly & cleaning after each use to avoid old grinds.
Positive Product Points

- More consistent grind than my previous Baratza Encore.
- Quiet compared to other similar grinders
- Timer nice feature not available on some comparable grinders.
- Small footprint and height.

Negative Product Points

- Burrs tend to keep more coffee grinds compared to previous similar products owned.
- To large of a area surrounding and below burrs that keep grinds. Resulting in older coffee on next use.
- Hopper lid needs handle as the clear plastic is invisible in certain lighting and angles. Have placed beans on top of lid accidentally.
- No on/off switch. Have to wait for timer to expire for machine to stop.

Detailed Commentary

The grinder is good for pour over, drip, moka pot, pressurized portafilter & aeropress coffee. Some claim unit does not grind course enough for Coffee press but I've found no issue on last coarse setting for me. Have not tried for non pressurized  espresso grind.

The grind consistency is good when compared to many other grinders, even performing well above it's price category. The grind holder has some mild static but not unmanageable as I have encountered with an old Italian grinder I use to use.

It's main issue is best shown here in this PDF. "Click Here", first link.

I raised the rear to the unit in order to minimize stale grinds but it seems like the unit requires a brushing of the burrs and grinding chamber floor after each use.

Buying Experience

Consiglio's Kitchenware in Toronto. Great place for Italian kitchen products and other high end goods. This is where I buy my Staub and Le Creuset.
