Detailed Commentary
This grinder is well worth the full retail value even though I didn't pay that for it. It was a new in box. I am 99.9% pleased with the unit which in my opinion has only one fault - static build-up in the grinds container making a mess of emptying, etc. Sometimes oily beans do not slide down well, so you have to pat the grinder. Most of my roasts are quite oily and I have yet to have any clogs or issues with the quality of grind. I would fully recommend this burr grinder to anyone serious about quality at an affordable price. It looks quite nice along side my Breville Cafe Roma.
Buying Experience
I had a perfect transaction with the seller. Would buy from again as a seller, and would buy the Breville grinder again as well.
Three Month Followup
Still using the grinder and loving it. After three months I have not found anything to add to the Pros or Cons. I upgraded to a Breville 800ESXL Espresso Machine and even though the filter cups are the same as the ESP8XL I had to set the grinder closer to Turkish in order to get the same pull with good crema.
The Cons are still a real irritation to me.
99.5% satisfied.
One Year Followup
Ground a lot of coffee in the past few months and the grinder is still working flawlessly. The cons are not so much a con any longer. The cure for the static is to let the grind set in the container for a while and the static disipates.
It is a great companion to the Breville Cast 800ESXL. Recommend both very highly.
