Detailed Commentary
Our ancient Krups burr grinder (I don't even know the model name) gave up the ghost some time back so it was time for a new one. I considered a Mazzer or something along those lines but we don't have an espresso maker now and I doubt we'll get one soon, so paying $300 for a grinder really didn't make sense. I still wanted a good unit that would last and which would provide good results for drip and press coffee. We also need something compact as we're not awash in counter space. After taking a look at what was available, it appeared to come down to this Breville model and the Kitchenaid burr grinder. The Kitchenaid was more expensive and larger as well. We have a Breville blender that I like a lot, so it really wasn't a contest between the two grinders.
Several months later, I'm happy with the purchase. The Breville is a bit quieter than our old Krups and it never sounds labored. I get the impression that this thing will be happily chewing up beans for many years to come. Coincidentally, if I max the timer knob out I get just the right amount of coffee for a 10-cup pot (which is what I make every morning). The coffee is, if anything, better than what we got using the Krups. The drawer empties easily and we don't seem to have as much "static cling" as we did with the Krups. Only downside is that this thing somehow gets a little pile of grounds under the drawer after each use. I don't know how it does this, but it happens every time. That's not too much to deal with, though.

Service at the store was fine - nothing to rave about and nothing to complain about.
