Inexpensive, but feels it. Fairly good range of grinds for a machine at this price point.
Negative Product Points
- Horribly noisy. - Very uneven grind - you probably lose 5% of your beans to dust - Terrible static - operates at high speed which produces lots of static. It's a real mess for a foot in every direction once you remove the container. - The lid on the hopper is difficult to remove
Detailed Commentary
I bought this to replace a Capresso 551 that died after two months. It's a marginal step up. It throws static charged coffee dust around like you wouldn't believe. I grind daily and my wife has a fit every time I use this grinder. It takes more time to clean up after using than it takes to grind.
The no matter what level of grind, you get a good dose of dust.
It's okay for automatic drip machines, but for any more sophisticated brewing it falls short.
I can't recommend this for any serious coffee drinker.
I've just ordered a Solis Maestro
Buying Experience
I bought this in a local cooking store where the owners are great. They've agreed to look into dropping this unit and carrying the Solis in it's place.
