Positive Product Points

The Antigua is not a bad looking machine. The grinder is a good entry level machine to replace a blade. The capicity of the hopper is also just the right size for a half pound of beans.

Negative Product Points

This machine will not grind beans fine enough for espresso as is. Also the static at first sends coffee all over the place and the ground container is hard to remove and replace. To change the grind you have to start the machine which leaves you with varring sizes in the cup.

Detailed Commentary

I have been using a blade grinder and this is a good replacement. Just dial in the amount you need and away you go. It will take you awhile to get the proper adjustment on the grind as the suggested positions are not correct. Also the numbers for the timer are not correct. I did have a huge problem with the static electicity, when I pulled the cup grounds flew everywhere. Once I washed the cup and wiped the recepticle the static was gone. I do not like the way you adjust the grind. if you have beans in the hopper you have to run the machine which means varing grounds in the cup. Also this machine does not grind  fine enough for espresso, but for a press or other brewer it is OK. The last thing would be the cup for the grounds, it is hard to pull out and put back in. If you do not get it seated properly you  will have grounds flying all over.

Buying Experience

This was purchased on line from bodum, it was uneventful. Delivered on time and in one piece.

Three Month Followup

I am happy with this grinder. It does a great job for the Vac Pot,and others. I still need to purchase one for my espresso. This will not grind fine enough. I have tried the tweaks and can not get them to work. For the money this is a good step up from the blade grinder.
