Detailed Commentary
This is the first burr grinder I have ever owned and it INSTANTLY made my espresso machine function like it was supposed to. The consistency in grind is something that is impossible to achieve in a blade grinder and it is the KEY to good espresso. The aesthetics are pleasing, it is a substantial piece of gear that you will not want to move around much. Adjusting the grind setting is as simple as rotating the hopper ( can be done in mid grind if you forget to reset it ....)
On the downside, even though the literature says that it has new "antistatic" technology, this thing literally SPITS ground coffee when the hopper is removed. It IS entertaining to watch the grounds seemingly defy gravity as they climb UP the outside of the grinder as the hopper is removed, then watch the grounds leap out onto the back of your hand and all over the counter ... until you realise you need to get out the broom every time you use it. The ONLY thing that I have found that seems to work is to grind and walk away for 30 minutes to allow the static to dissipate.
