Detailed Commentary
This grinder has been a great upgrade from the department store brands. I was never a blade grinder user, but I noticed significant improvements in the speed, sound, and quality of grind with this grinder when upgrading from my previous Braun model. This grinder is excellent for Press Pot and drip coffee and provides a sufficient range of settings for these methods of brewing. I use it daily for these purposes and have never had it lock up, get jammed, or otherwise not perform. I take 5-10 minutes every few weeks to remove the top burr and give the machine a thorough once-over with a grinder brush. Otherwise, it's just a damp cloth periodically to keep the outside looking clean.
This is not an espresso grinder, though it has finer grind settings indicating such. That being said, I've used it to grind for my Rancilio Silvia for the past 6 months and have found it adequate to learn on while I save for a dedicated espresso grinder. It will grind fine enough without jamming, but I've found it difficult to truly "dial in" the proper grind. It will get the job done. I've actually ground fine enough to brew Turkish coffee on my stove successfully, so the limitations at the fine end of the grind settings are more about control & consistency rather than ability to perform.
Buying Experience
My wife bought this for me as a gift from Whole Latte Love and did not have any trouble with service or shipping.
