Bottom Line: This is the right grinder for the right price for just about anyone!
Positive Product Points

This grinder was obviously designed around the needs of the serious
coffee enthusiast on a limited budget. We talked, they listened!

Negative Product Points

I do have a Mulino that has had limited use that is a tad flakey, so
I am watching this one closely -- After a few weeks use, I am impressed and will write a follow-up.

Detailed Commentary

The engineers at Solis have been reading Alt.coffee again! They have clearly been paying strict attention to the needs of coffee enthusiasts, amateur and pro alike. Everything that they missed with the Mulino they get right here: Like lapse timer control and front panel switching for
grinding into a portafilter, a large bean hopper, the conical burrs, the gear reduction, and timely, accurate grinding! I would encourage anyone thinking about more expensive grinders to look here first if they are new to the coffee and espresso lovers game.

Buying Experience

I have used the Solis SL70 and have owned the Mulino. I have bought or received promotional samples from Quality Coffee Systems in Burnaby so I have yet to report on any warranty or service issues.
