Positive Product Points

Great looking
consistant grind
easy to use
stepless adjustement
easy cleaning
the grind retention in the chute is acceptable
I have the timer function, and its accurate

Negative Product Points

Little bit noisy
the chute is too close of the portafilter (juste unscrew the fork stand and place it upside down for more space)
Little bit of clumping (depend of the coffee used)
Like every grinder under 400/500$ You will have some grind coffee everywhere

Detailed Commentary

I have bought this grinder after a lot of research and reading a tons of review, trust me. My budget was 300$ and i haved 3 choice : lelit pl53, ascaso isteel i1 and the rancilio rocky.

The stepless adjustement was very importan for me cause i like the micro adjustment and this grinder is for espresso only (forget this grinder for making espresso to french press !). The rocky was only stepped and cost more. So i discard this one. The lelit was interesting but after a tons of review i choose the isteel for two main reason :

1-The component of the grinder is completly in brass, no plastic in the burr section.
2-54 mm flat burr with a low rpm, the coffee is never "hot".

To set the grind sweet spot took me one pound of coffee. But after that, the grind is very constant and you just have to play with micro adjustment depending of the coffee type and the humidity or the age of the coffee. Every grind is fluffy but i have some clump depending of the bean. I also like the old school look of the isteel, this is a great finish of my little coffee bar !

So i have nothing against this grinder. This is my first one grinder and i dont feel to change it in a near future. Of course, to grind a double shot it take more time than a mazer, but for 300$ you have a great grinder built like a tank, constant, fluffy grind and a great finish. Love it !

Buying Experience

Idrincoffee is a nice place to make business. Always reply to my question, and the shipping is so fast ! They have great price and sometime you will have some giftcard after a 250$+ buy. I always deal with those guy !
