The grinder that looks best alongside an E61 prosumer machine. Hardened steel burrs Minimal dust Low residual coffee left in machine
Negative Product Points
Stepped Relatively expensive
I've used this machine for over 5 years and have been very satisfied with it. The machine uses hardened steel burrs (as opposed to competitor's stainless steel ones) which are rated for 600kg - it will take me a long time to grind that amount!! Coupled with the build quality the unit produces a very consistent grind with very little dust - probably the most important factors when grinding.
The burrs are smaller than say a Mazzer mini but I have found no difference in grind quality and I prefer the more compact and attractive unit on my bench top.
The grinder will grind sufficiently small for any coffee type you would like to make.
Some people have trouble with the grind adjustment being stepped but I find it easy to compensate during tamping to create the ideal shot. i roast and blend my own beans and so have to adjust my grind settings and tamping more than someone who buys the same coffee each time.
I prefer a doser grinder and this one works perfectly.
Compared to competitor grinders there is less stale grinds left up the spout, so to speak, another plus point.
The unit is relatively expensive but it is quality and will last forever
