had mine for 3 years and very happy with it until it just stopped working. emailed boyd coffee company and a rep said certtainly must be scale build up, there is a service fee of 99 dollars (the cost of a cuisinart replacement) just to look at it. we will send you descaling material never got it, never got a follow up e-mail. Pulled out my 10 year old cuisinart coffee maker and it cranked right up. to think that cooks illustrated (my bible) recommended it 3 years a go and recently at almost 300 dollars, I'm super disappointed on all fronts! it sits in the bottom of my closet collecting dust. don't waste your money
