Detailed Commentary

WHEN THE BOX ARRIVED, EVEN DOUBLE BOXED IT WAS SO LIGHT I WONDERED IF THIS WAS ONLY THE COFFEE AND FILTERS WE HAD ORDERED.
THE INNER BOX WAS VERY NICE AND IN GOOD CONDITION, THE UNIT COMES WELL PROTECTED.
THAT SAID, IT IS THE LIGHTEST UNIT I HAVE OWNED OR SO IT SEEMS, WEIGHT GIVES STABILITY NOT INSIGNIFICANT IN A BUSY KITCHEN.
OUT OF THE BOX I COULD NOT GET BEYOND HOW CHEAP SOME OF THE PARTS WERE, I WAS SCARED THEY WOULD BREAK IN UNPACKING, THEY DID NOT.
WE CHOOSE THE BLACK UNIT, THINKING IT WAS A SHINY BLACK ENAMEL FINISH AS PER THEIR WEB SITE, IT WAS DULL BLACK AND WE HAD A HARD TIME DIFFERENTIATING IT FROM PLASTIC. ASSEMBLY WAS EASY, IT IS AFTER ALL A COFFEE POT, BUT THE FIT WAS MARGINAL AT BEST, ESPECIALLY THE NEWLY DESIGNED METAL ARM WHICH SPRAYS THE WATER OVER THE GRINDS. IT LOOSES A GREAT DEAL OF STEAM AND THERE FOR HEAT DUE TO THE GAP IN THE CONE COVER WHICH IS DESIGNED WITH A SLOT FOR THE ARM INSTEAD OF COVERING THE ARM ITSELF. THE CONE WHICH FITS INTO A FLIMSY PLASTIC ARM IS CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP, AND DRIPS EVEN IN THE OFF POSITION. THIS IS ESPECIALLY BAD AT THE END OF THE CYCLE AS IT DRIPS ONTO THE RIDICULOUS PLASTIC (AFTER THOUGHT) OF A PAD BELOW THE CARAFE, WHICH NEEDS TO BE RESEATED EVERY TIME ONE MOVES THE MACHINE, I HAVE REMOVED IT. ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MACHINE, THE END THE CORD COMES OUT OF, LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE FORGOT TO PUT THE COVER ON, WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT? THE THERMAL CARAFE IS FINE IT KEEPS THE COFFEE AS HOT AS IT GETS IT WHICH IS NOT HOT ENOUGH AND POURS WELL ENOUGH, EVEN THOU I WOULD AGREE IT COULD BE DESIGNED TO POUR BETTER AND LOOSE LESS HEAT IF IT DID NOT BATH THE ENTIRE INNER SURFACE OF CARAFE LIP WITH EACH POUR. THE FILL TANK HAS ALREADY BEGUN TURNING YELLOW WHY I CAN NOT BEGIN TO FATHOM AND THE MARKINGS HAVE NO RELATION TO THE AMOUNT OF WATER FILLING THE CARAFE. EVEN WHEN THE TANK IS FILLED TO THE RIM THE CARAFE IS NOT FULL, I AM STILL WORKING ON THIS. THE SIMPLICITY OF THE MACHINE IS VERY GOOD, SIMPLE ON OFF SWITCH BUT WHY DOES THE UNIT  NOT TURN ITSELF OFF?  THE SAFETY SWITCH IS  A GREAT IDEA, NOT ALLOWING ONE TO MAKE COFFEE ALL OVER THE COUNTER, NO CARAFE NO COFFEE, WELL DONE. AS TO THE LOOK OF THE MACHINE IT IS UNIQUE, MODERN, SLEEK AND QUIT PLEASING.
COST IS HIGH FOR THE QUALITY OF THE FINISH, THE COST IS TO BE EXPECTED IN A PRODUCT NOT PRODUCED IN CHINA BUT NOT THE FINISH, A PRODUCT NOT MADE IN CHINA IS REASON ENOUGH TO BUY IT.
IN THE END THE CONVERSATION IN OUR HOME WENT SOMETHING LIKE THIS, "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT JUST RETURN IT, BUT WHAT WOULD WE USE INSTEAD", SO WE TRIED IT AND THE COFFEE WAS GOOD, VERY GOOD IN FACT, AND IT WILL GET BETTER WITH PRACTICE, AS WE MATCH THE MACHINE TO OUR TASTE.
OUR HOPE IS THAT THE COMPANY TAKES ALL THE REVIEWS TO HEART AND FIXES THESE PROBLEMS BECAUSE AT THE CORE OF THE MACHINE IS A GREAT HEATING ELEMENT AND DELIVERY SYSTEM WHICH AFTER ALL IS THAT WHICH MAKES GREAT COFFEE.

Buying Experience

BOUGHT FROM ROASTMASTER'S, OVER THE INTERNET, THEY EVEN OBTAINED THE HARD TO COME BY,  BLACK UNIT FOR US. NO PROBLEM HERE, IT WAS DELIVERED AS PROMISED WHICH WAS AS STATED "WHEN THEY COME IN", THEY EVEN THREW IN 2 LBS OF COFFEE AND A BOX OF FILTERS. I WOULD BUY FROM THEM AGAIN, AS A MATTER OF FACT WE DID, OUR GRINDER IS ON ITS WAY FROM THEM AS WE SPEAK.
