Bottom Line: New metallic silver Moccamaster looks sharp, flavor is top-notch, and it's still a great built-to-last drip coffeemaker. Kudos to Boyds.
Positive Product Points

Thoughtful, simple design, superb coffee flavor, solid "built to last" product.

Negative Product Points

Not inexpensive, but OK value for the build quality

Detailed Commentary

This product's been fairly well reviewed already and we don't have much new to add, other than we bought the new metallic silver model, which looks grand. Should go well with new stainless steel appliances when we re-do the kitchen. As others have experienced, this product is built like a tank and produces fine coffee flavor. The product design is very thoughtful and works well, with much less mess than previous coffeemakers we've owned. Brew time is great, too, under ~5 minutes for 8 European cups.

Buying Experience

Boyd's service has been absolutely unmatched. Their customer service person went "above the rim" to help us get our new Moccamaster incredibly fast. I would absolutely turn to them again.

Three Month Followup

After three months, we're even happier with the purchase and have come to appreciate the design and quality. Brew quality & flavor are consistently excellent. We found one tiny nit, solvable with a simple tip. The part, which holds the cone filter and grounds, has a piece on its bottom that causes it to wobble when set flat on the counter. To keep things stable when filling the filter with fresh grounds, place the lid, which covers this part, upside down on the counter, then set the cone-shaped part into the lid's slit, before putting in a filter and fresh grounds.
