must pull machine out to get to carafe (if under counter).....must be careful the carafe top is properly seated when inserting in machine, otherwise you knock the rubber ring off the drip above, and it's not easy to fix.
Detailed Commentary
I liked the machine until it just died one day after about a year's use. Thankfully, Starbucks gave me a new one. THEN, the new one malfunctioned. During the brewing cycle coffee started backing up throught the filter spilling out of the machine onto the counter top and floor. Now I'm out a large repair bill to repair my WOOD floor. Now I never run it unless I'm there watching it brew. Two additional times I caught it doing the same thing.....this is despite thoroughly cleaning both it and the burr grinder. Starbuck will replace the machine, although they can't tell me for sure why it's doing it (coffee ground too fine...etc...NOT!) or give me my money back. You can't gripe about their customer service.
