Sleek, simple and gets the quality accomplished. Not many things can be bought at such a low price and really deliver the goods.
Positive Product Points
This coffee maker lived up to its reputation for making a consistent cup of hot coffee. I only make 1-2 cups at a time, so this ability to heat the water fast for small portions was a big plus.
Negative Product Points
Filter holder retains some extra water; carafe opens up with a jump and without much control when pouring too fast. Controls on side make it difficult to read. No adjustable heater or variable shut off on carafe heater.
Despite the above negatives, this coffee maker is sleek, easy to use and consistently reliable. I use it about 2-3 times per day and love the simplicity of the setup so I can make my one or two cups of hot coffee. At the price I paid from Costco.com, its all the more rewarding since I've owned a variety of Krups, Braun, and most recently a Cuisinart brew central coffee maker (that didn't make hot coffee long after I bought it despite the vinegar cleanings). The coffee tastes rich and brews very quickly. If I brewed a full 8 cups or so, perhaps the coffee would be even hotter. The only annoyance for me is the lack of an adjustable shut off on the carafe heater, which will stay on for an hour or so if not manually shut off. Once I forgot and returned to smell the fragrance of scalded coffee remains on the carafe, but it washed off fast enough.
3 Words: Costco, Costco, Costco. Where else can you buy a product knowing you can simply return it whenever you like (excepting computers and software), thereby taking any "sting" out of buying an unknown product? They shipped the product to me within 2 or 3 days of my online order and I can return it to any warehouse at any time if I want to, but at this price and quality (thus far) I don't intend to return it.
