An inexpensive machine that produces a good cup of coffee quickly with minimal mess.
Positive Product Points
o Makes much better coffee than any drip or press-pot maker I have owned. o Very easy to use. o Fast. No waiting for that first cup in the morning. o Simple clean-up (toss the pod)
Negative Product Points
o Not all that attractive o Latching mechanism doesn't feel very sturdy. o Water container is small (about 3 or 4 cups)
I have made about 50 cups of coffee with this machine. I like it a lot. It makes a good cup of coffee that tastes better than 'drip'. The coffee temperature is not as hot as other coffee makers, but it's plenty hot for me. So far, the machine has only leaked on me once. It was when I was in a hurry and didn't push the pod all the way into the pod holder. The filter paper from the pod overlapped the seal on the pod holder. Other than that I haven't had a problem with leaks.
I initially purchased Melitta pods for use with the machine: o Dark Roast: Not bad o Medium Rost: Don't like o Vanilla Flavored: Don't like (but I don't like flavored coffee anyway)
Today I got my first shipment of "Melitta Style Pods" from www.podhead.com. These are better quality coffee pods (not sold by Melitta) but they will fit the Melitta One-to-One maker with the use of an adapter ring provided free from podhead. The adapter ring is basically a gasket that fits inside the pod holder of the One-to-One. I've brewed the Arabaca Blend and Columbian pods from podhead and both are better than any variety of pods sold by Melitta that I have tried.
As good as can be expected from Linnens 'n Things.
