Detailed Commentary
I previously owned a Capresso grind/brew machine which never met my expectations. Saw the KitchenAid at WS and immediately fell in love. The staff there made me a cup of coffee and I then knew I had to have it as I really appreciate HOT coffee and this machine produced just that. The quality is top notch and the design looks great in my kitchen.
Two minor problems were quickly resolved: First, the decaf lid which comes with one of the carafes was warped and KitchenAid sent an immediate replacement. Second, the alternate carafe was not well sealed between the glass bottom and the upper, plastic rim resulting in coffee and dishwater leaking into the plastic rim and slowly leaking out. Again, KitchenAid sent a replacement carafe, no questions asked.
And yes, there is a small amount of condensation which comes from the carafe but this is a very minor issue compared to my experiences with some other coffee makers.
