Doesn't fit the typical tall size travel mug. Like every other coffee maker, water mineralization can occur. Big size.
Detailed Commentary
I have had this model for 2 years now and I would buy another in a heart-beat. If you're willing to consider a mid-range-priced coffee maker, this is the one to get. The only big drawback is the fact that it doesn't fit the normal size travel mug, which stands taller than a regular coffee mug. Hamilton-Beach does apparently make another model (as I just found out) that fits the taller mugs. I'm very pleased with the unit, but wish it was slightly smaller. It would be nice if coffee makers in this price range came with a pull-out drawer or some way of holding creamer and sugar.
Buying Experience
I bought one and after about a year, I bought another. I've tried many other brands and this one is top so far.
Three Month Followup
I'm actually following this up after having owned 2 of these. One lasted 8 years, but died at that point (great product to last that long). The other got zapped by an electrical surge that took out several other appliances in my house. Despite what others have said here, my experience was very different. It leaks only if you don't occasionally keep the drip catch clean, or put too many grounds in.
One Year Followup
I owned 2 of these. Bottom-out coffee dispenser ensures better tasting coffee (sediments settle, not rise). Aesthetically pleasing. Spill catch. Extra spout ring provided. Very dependable, top-quality. 12-cup. Doesn't spill all over when filling with water. Detachable carafe that has a very effective no-spill spout and fits nicely in the main unit.
