bought this 3 years ago, pd $75 or so for it, its the most expensive coffeepot ive purchased to date, bout a year into the owning, the fill up carafe starting started leaking at the seam. called hamilton beach they sent me a new one, for free. i thought great. problem solved. just a few months ago, it started leaking again. from the same spot. called them back, and explained. they said they could replace it again but it has to still be within 3 years of purchase. so i dug out my box,(good habit i got into, i save my boxes and tape the receipts to the inside side) turns out. i was 2 days to the good before the 3 yr mark, im thinkin great, im golden. hahahaha   not.  when i called them back to let them know i was indeed within the 3 yr limit. they told they couldnt help me again because they had already sent me a new basket once. so if i wanted tho i could send them $24 and they would gladly send a replacement carafe. i declined that fine offer, and have been stewing on it ever since. now i have  to empty my fresh pot of coffee into thermos's  every morning. i refuse to spend any more mnoney on this coffeepot than i already have. ive got a few mr. coffee machines in storage that ive used for longer and had only pd a fraction of the price for. bottom line. beware  and be wary of buying this coffee pot, obviously i got a defective one, that iam just stuck with now. as the cleaning light no longer comes on, and it dont beep no more when the coffee is done brewing.
