Detailed Commentary
I bought this a year ago because I needed a coffee maker. I liked the 'tap' feature and the easy cleanup and elimination of a glass pot. I paid 38 bucks for the manual model (no timer). It barely kept the coffee warm enough after 45 minutes. But otherwise it was acceptable. A month ago I suspected the secondary element went out, because coffee was cooled off after only 20 minutes.
I am the only one who drinks coffee at home, so I replaced this with the Barista Aroma Solo (Starbucks). Worlds of difference. Now I finally understand why the heat when 'making' coffee needs to be piping hot. No hot plate, but the slim stainless thermal cup keeps my coffee hot for 30 minutes, and still acceptably warm after 90 !
No comparison. For those not fussy about their coffee, this is an acceptable and quaint coffee maker. But if coffee quality is not that important, a basic coffee maker for under $20 would do the same job.
