Detailed Commentary
I bought this 5 cup maker in 2003 right before I went to college. I used it religiously for almost 5 years now (it has a permanent home in my office and is used by 4 other colleagues on a daily basis). For what it is, a small 5 cup inexpensive drip maker it has excelled above and beyond my expectations. My father even had it for a short time while I was deployed with the army and he said it brewed a better cup than his 75 dollar coffee maker. For a quick shot of caffeine to get you through a long work day or get you started in the AM there is simply nothing better.
I have only broken one piece on the entire maker since purchase. The top of the pot actually is a plastic cover which is connected to the glass with two small knobs (sorry lack of a better term) I accidentally dropped the pot and it smacked against my desk breaking one of the two knobs so the cover is not as stable as it once was but still functional. The actual body of the maker is plastic and very easy to wipe down and keep clean.
