The filter, if not replaced properly, can make it difficult for the pop-out feature to funtion.
Detailed Commentary
My machine does not look at all like the one featured and judging from the written reviews is probably a different machine from the same manufacturer. Mine was bought in Canada.
It is triangular in shape and fits into a corner of the counter nicely. It makes 8 five ounce cups so adjust the amount of coffee accordingly.
Have never had a problem with filling the water or reading the cup gauge. The carafe, if pre-warmed, keeps the coffee at a good temperature for over an hour. Ireplaced the supplied filter with a gold one and the machine does all my coffee justice. I am a home roaster and I grind the beans just before I brew. I have never been disappointed.
If you brew less than a full carafe, there is a feature to prolong the brew cycle for a fuller taste.
The unit comes in chrome and black. No idea what the temperature is but I wait a few minutes after I pour a cup before tasting as it is too hot for me at first.
There is no easy way to clean the water reservoir. That's the only drawback in this otherwise very competent machine.
Buying Experience
I've seen the same machine advertised for $15 to $25 more than the $40 I paid at Costco.
