Bottom Line: Excellent, versitile coffee maker that helps you get the most from your coffee experience.  Makes great, hot coffee that stays fresh for hours.
Positive Product Points

The product is very easy to use, makes HOT, great coffee, is pleasant to look at, and keeps coffee hot for hours without that bitter, old taste.

Negative Product Points

Not much to speak of.  I wish it had an integrated water filter.  And the I wish I could turn off the post-brew beep.  Other than that, it's great.

Detailed Commentary

I can't tell you how happy I am with this product, really.  Sure my perspective is likely biased since I had such a piece of junk before this coffee pot.  My last coffee pot was a DeLonghi standard glass carafe that consistently overflowed and/or made undrinkable, warm dirty water instead of coffee.

The contrast between that and this Cuisinart is like night and day.  Unbelievable difference.  The Cuisinart, is extremely easy to use and I think is very well designed.  I've had several thermal carafe style makers in the past, but this one is the largest (12 cup), and it keeps coffee hot the longest, by far.  I can make a pot in the morning, and truly enjoy it throughout the day.  Really, it saves money...because you get the most from the pots you brew.

Best of all, it makes great tasting coffee.  I think the key really lies in the brewing temperature.  This device makes a very hot cup of coffee, and I think that the heat really does a great job of extracting the flavor from your ground beans.  It's amazing how much better the  same brands of coffee tastes from this coffee maker, compared to my last machine.

Considering the versitility and the price, I'm extremely happy with the purchase, and have no problem recommending this model.

Buying Experience

Excellent, really.  I wanted a great coffee maker, but I didn't want to spend a fortune.  So, I did a ton of reasearch and found the model I thought would be best for me.  I ended up selecting a refurbished model, but it works great, and cost far less than getting the model in a store ($53 instead of $150).  At $50, I could afford to be wrong...at $150, well, that would be tragic ;-).

Three Month Followup

Without question, this is the best drip coffee maker I have ever owned.  Makes strong, hot, consistent coffee with every use.  Stays hot and fresh literally for hours, and the 12-cup capacity is great.

One Year Followup

Still very happy with the purchase.  The coffee is still flavorful and hot, and the carafe has proven to be very durable.
