Bottom Line: I truly believe a happy wife starts with a great cup of coffee and the Cuisinart DBG-600 makes it easy.
Positive Product Points

I have the stainless version with the 10 cup vaccuum pot (DGB-600). This product makes great strong coffee and it is easy to clean and program. Filling requires a 52 oz container, as the gauge is hard to see. Washing parts with a soapy sponge, rinsing and drying takes less than 2 minutes. A dry soft lint free rag works to wipe out the inside after the grinder is removed.

Negative Product Points

If you are making more than 1 pot you must thoroughly dry all parts before hitting the start  button. The gauge on the inside is hard to see when filling but a marked water container makes this easy.

Detailed Commentary

I'm one of those wonderful guys that bring my wife coffee every morning in bed. I do it because I always get the first cup and she wakes up in a loving mood when she smells a rich roast.

A couple months ago she said the coffee just didn't have the same flavor from our existing pot and I started researching grind and brew coffee machines. There were some nasty reviews on the Cuisinart, but they all seemed to center on the cleaning of the "5" parts. My experience in coffee centers on the quality of the beans rather than the machinery so I decided to give it a try.

I like strong coffee but not the type that puts hair on your chest (especially for the one I bring coffee to) . On day one I tried a good French Roast and filled the grinder with 2 more than the recommended one scoop per cup of beans and it was too strong.  Going back to the recommended amount did the trick. Over the past month I have tried several quality blends and like the machine more and more each time I grind and brew.

Buying Experience

I seem to be using the internet more often when buying products. I purchased this product from CSSAUCTION.com. I ordered the machine on a Wednesday morning and received in on Friday with free shipping. It is probably the fastest I have received anything over the net. The machine was well packaged and I will check to see if they have products I want in the future.

Three Month Followup

I'm still high on the machine. I find it works well with the grinder turned off and an already ground roast is used. I prefer ground beans as it always tastes fresher and smells better in the kitchen.

One Year Followup

I had a problem with the vaccuum pot lid and called Cuisinart. No questions asked and I had a new one in 3 days. I thought the customer service was great. Once a month, I put the parts in the dish washer and any oil residue is washed away. It does take a little effort to keep the unit clean but no different than any other coffee pot that I have owned. After 1 year of twice a day use, I love it.
