It really doesn't get much simpler than this to use. Open filter and insert in open top. Add freshly (and properly) ground coffee. Pour 195-205 degree water over in appropriate quantities. When finished dripping enjoy best cup of coffee you've ever encountered. I love my Chemex. I took it on my honeymoon to make coffee. I worked for the big, green marketing machine for two years and when I went for my interview to go into management I did my coffee tasting with my Chemex (and made an impression on everyone in the room). The coffee is always smooth and rich. Be wary of grinding too fine though - you'll clog the filter in a heartbeat.
