Bottom Line: Nice looking, quality build, but just doesn't get hot enough.  Returned 2.
Positive Product Points

Nice looking.  Easy to use. Feels like quality.

Negative Product Points

Not hot enough.  I returned two of them because the product was not hot enough.  I measured the temperature in the carafe after brewing and it was about 160 F and an hour later about 130F.

Detailed Commentary

The Capresso MT 500 came highly recommended as a drip machine that meets temperature standards.  I was disappointed.  I really wanted this machine to work out for me because it looks good and has all of the things that I wanted especially a thermal carafe.  I returned it twice because the measured temperatures were significantly lower than advertised, and the coffee was just not hot enough.  In fact I had some guests over last week and they commented that the coffee was not hot.  That was it and I returned the second one.  Now I am looking again.

Buying Experience

I bought it at Kitchen Kapers and they were very nice and took back the return twice.  They mentioned that they sell a lot of this unit and never have had this problem.
