The Capresso MT500 looks great and makes very flavorful coffee. The water reservoir is easy to fill with water and the water level indicator is easy to read. As the water is heating it comes into contact with stainless steel and not aluminum like so many others do in this category of coffee maker.

The basket that holds the filter and coffee grounds needs improving so it will fit into place each time and the gold filter requires an extra downward push to fit propely. The water reservoir can be too easily overfilled resulting in a 'run over' mess.
Capresso advertises the MT500 as keeping coffee hot in the Stainless Steel Carafe for a  minimum of four hours.  The coffee is barely hot enough to drink immediately after brewing. The Carafe does not maintain the temperature of the coffee for an hour much less for four hours. After pouring the first two or three cups of coffee and closing the lid after each pour, the temperature drops too low and coffee has to be reheated in the microwave before it can be consumed.

As stated above, the Capresso MT500 brews very flavorful coffee and it's a pleasing looking coffee pot. However, looks are deceiving. We are very disappointed with the lower than expected temperature of the coffee after brewing. I don't mean brewing temperature, but the actual immediate temperature and following drop of temperature after the first two or three cups are poured form the stainless steel carafe. We have tried preheating the carafe and that only results in two degrees higher temperature immediately following brewing. My wife doesn't like extremely hot coffee and she says the coffee temperature is not hot enough.  I like the temperature of coffee to be 'sippin hot' when it's first poured and I don't like having to use the microwave to acheive a good hot cup of coffee.

We purchased the Capresso MT500 Model440 from Quality Kitchen on the internet and the lady I talked to there was very nice.
