Drip machines just pour hot water over coffee grinds. If you don't like the way it comes out, adjust your grind size and/or dosage. Not all drip machines are going to make coffee well with the same grind. After a couple of pots, I was able to figure out how much coffee and what size grind was needed to make great coffee with this machine. Anyone who says a drip machine is no good just doesn't know what they're doing...unless it's a Mr. Coffee and the water temp. is way to high. Drip machines are programmed to run best at a full pot. Most machines will make an inferior pot of coffee if, for example, it's a 10 cup machine and you make 4 cups.
