Positive Product Points

Brews at 200 degrees.  Doesn't need to hold water hot 24/7 like other Bunn machines. Great Price. Fast Customer Service.

Negative Product Points

Decanter is poorly designed and leaks around plastic rim. Bunn promptly sent out a replacement.

Detailed Commentary

This is a great machine for the $79 price tag. It does not require water to be held hot in a tank all day long like the other Bunn machines. This model runs in two phases, first 6 minutes to heat the 8 cups of water, then 4 minutes to brew. The brew seems a bit faster than 10 minutes, but I've never actually timed it with a watch. The brew does reach 195-205 degrees just like the owners manual states. I used a digital thermometer in the brew basket and came up with 198 twice. It has a timer function and auto off for convenience. The LED clock looks cool, and it doesn't make any annoying beeps or sounds in the morning.


My only complaint is that the decanter had a flawed design. There is a plastic rim around the top, and it developed a leak after about a week. I called Bunn and they sent a new one right away. The new one appeared to have a bead of silicone under the plastic where the glass meets.


Other than the leaky decanter, which has been resolved, I have no complaints.



*****UPDATE 2/7/2011*****  I just got a personal call from Bunn, and they are sending new equipment. I will be overnighting the decanter back to them and the engineering team will find the problem.  I have to say, Bunn really cares about customer satisfaction. I'm not a typical complainer, so I am willing to compliment them on their 'stellar' service.

******UPDATE 2/10/2011******  FedEx just brought me new equipment. Thank you Bunn.

Buying Experience

Bed Bath Beyond website. Shipped on time. I purchased in store so that I could use the 20% coupon, and the clerk waived the shipping charges as a courtesy.

Three Month Followup

Everything has been working well for the past few months. Since switching to the thermal carafe I no longer have the dripping issue. Bunn customer service did an excellent job. Thanks.
