still not nearly as good as a vac pot for full rich flavor. the carafe seems thin.

See Ken‘s review on how to cheat it, but I don‘t give it as high marks as Ken because my vac pot blows this away while giving a similar bright cuppa. Use the flavor select on the strongest brew and the temperature on the hottest level. This got Consumer Reports‘ highest rating. The KF 185 didn‘t include the KF187‘s gold filter, but it was easily purchased as an extra.
