Water is not heated enough before being pumped onto coffee grounds. Coffee is therefore of very poor quality.
Detailed Commentary
I have one, my brother has one and my parents have one... - my parents unit started to leak after a few years - my brothers unit worked well for many years - my unit still works well
HOWEVER
It simply does not heat the water up enough during the brew cycle. Naturally turning up the heating element under the carafe just makes for burnt tasting coffee.
Save your money and buy a machine that gets the water hotter during the brew cycle. When you are out looking, ask the sales people about the wattage on the unit. Most sales clerks wont know what you are talking about.. Move on, go to another store where they know what you are talking about. Or at least look at the specs online before you buy.. Don't waste your money like I did.
Buying Experience
I have purchased aprox 5 coffee makers in the last 5 years for myself and as gifts.
