Buy a different brand, something with more durable construction, unless you are content to replace your coffee machine about every 18 months.
Positive Product Points
Makes good coffee, or as good as the coffee you put into it. I tend to buy only dark Arabica coffee, fine ground for extra flavour, and I add a scoop of Espreso fine grind as well to give it an extra kick. Easy to use, timer works well, coffee is hot.
Negative Product Points
Cheap plastic parts, engineering designed to make it fragile, regular use will inevitably lead to an early demise.
Detailed Commentary
The coffee it makes can be good, provided you feed it some quality grounds. The coffee comes out hot, and will stay hot for up to 2 hours before the boilerplate will automatically turn itself off. Quality is very questionable. All the parts are plastic, you will be surprised at how little the unit weighs when you pull it out of the box. In 3 years, my second Black & Decker SmartBrew Plus just died. The first one simply refused to turn on one morning after 14 months of daily use, and no amount of tinkering managed to coax it back into operation. The latest one just died after 2 years; the unit comes on but does nothing. It will not boil the water, it just sits there with the light on. Again, I have tried to poke and prod, but to no avail. It appears this one has given up the ghost as well. The shoddy quality of these 2 units will not allow me to recommend this product.

First unit died after 14 months of daily use, second unit just died after 2 years of daily use.
