Retailer (Starbucks) does not stand behind the product
Positive Product Points
Made good coffee when it worked. Loved the machine and encouraged neighbor's to buy
Negative Product Points
Starbucks discontinued machine and doesn't honor the spirit of their 2 year warranty.
Detailed Commentary
Starbucks discontinued this machine in March 2005, yet still touted and sold it during their last annual brewing event (after they discontinued). So when the machine breaks they will offer you your money back. Perhaps a "fair" deal unless you pass up competing machines on sale thinking your buying a good prodcut from a company willing to stand behind it.
My machine broke (steaming wand exploded off when steaming milk) -- the little plastic thing holding the wand gave way.
Starbucks is not committed to their retail line -- don't buy if you expect them to stand behind what they are selling. I'm not sure when they became too big to care about the customer, but it's happened. I will never buy another (this was the third) coffee maker from Starbucks again.
