A true benchmark machine, this machine made Rancilio a lot of money since it was introduced in 1998 - it has become the standard against which all other consumer, single boiler machines are measured against. Currently in its 3rd revision.
S Kelly (quality: 7.1)
Bottom Line: Delicious espresso, brilliant machine, fabulous service, exquisite industrial design: a triumph!
S Hanson (quality: 6.5)
Bottom Line: You could spend more than $500 (a LOT more, actually), but you'd be nuts to waste your $ on anything else for your home. Get a Silvia!
Ryan Kew (quality: 7.0)
Bottom Line: This is one Pimp Espresso Machine, easy to use and doesnt seem to have a steep learning curve to get a nice espresso with tons of crema and awesome froth that many reviewers would have you believe. In other words its user friendly even for a 1st machine.
Roni Li (quality: 0.4)
Bottom Line: Seems like a great machine... pity doesn't work
Ronald Fischer (quality: 8.0)
Bottom Line: Makes great espresso, slowly.
Roman Rakus (quality: 5.7)
Bottom Line: Great home machine with excellent , quality made commercial parts and a wonderful machine to use and to get to know.
Rom Lee (quality: 5.5)
Bottom Line: Not for the faint of heart. Patience is rewarded with many pleasureable returns.
Bottom Line: Good if you pre-heat your cup (water in microwave). Not quite hot enough otherwise.
Robert Eames (quality: 6.0)
Bottom Line: The Silvia is an espresso bombshell...tickle her in all the right places, and she'll deliver a double with crema to remember.
Robert Boucher (quality: 4.0)
Bottom Line: A good, solid machine, great to learn to make espresso on.
Robert Blum (quality: 6.3)
Bottom Line: Sylvia with PID, its a GREAT match, NOT a bad disease.... grin
Robert (quality: 2.0)
Bottom Line: Would buy this machine again in a second. I think you would have to spend a lot more money to get anything better than this.Great value.
Robert (quality: 5.7)
Bottom Line: The best of the best(for the price)
Raymond G (quality: 7.0)
Bottom Line: I like metaphors so here's how I'll summarize this. This machine is not a luxury sedan. It's like a Porsche. It's not comfortable and easy to drive, but once you get the hang of it, you'll find that you can soon be pulling shots like a pro barista.
Raul Estevez (quality: 0.2)
Bottom Line: For the price you you can't beat this quality Italian made machine.
R L Kesler (quality: 6.5)
Bottom Line: Superb machine and value, but does require solid technique.
Pierre Bellavance (quality: 3.0)
Bottom Line: Excellent machine for the home, if you can't (or won't) have a plumbed in machine.
Petey Overton (quality: 1.5)
Bottom Line: Happy, great machine, well built, nothing wrong, no defects, no mishaps, macine reads your mind, perfection, everyone should own one! grind your own beans. I will roast soon.
Peter Verburg (quality: 5.3)
Bottom Line: Well worth the investment. The Ferrari of home espresso machines.
Bottom Line: A temperamental mistress that plays hard to get but, wow, does she put out ;o)
