Consumer Espresso: Rancilio Silvia
Previous Product Consumer Espresso Next Product

A true benchmark machine, this machine made Rancilio a lot of money since it was introduced in 1998 - it has become the standard against which all other consumer, single boiler machines are measured against. Currently in its 3rd revision.

Samurai K (quality: 8.3) 11.04.2010 Rating: 7.0
Bottom Line: Silvia is finicky so technique is very important. Get a PID to make you and her happy.
Sam Cafarelli (quality: 6.3) 10.16.2005 Rating: 9.2

S Hanson (quality: 6.5) 01.01.2007 Rating: 8.8
Bottom Line: You could spend more than $500 (a LOT more, actually), but you'd be nuts to waste your $ on anything else for your home. Get a Silvia!
Ryan Kew (quality: 7.0) 12.07.2009 Rating: 9.2
Bottom Line: This is one Pimp Espresso Machine, easy to use and doesnt seem to have a steep learning curve to get a nice espresso with tons of crema and awesome froth that many reviewers would have you believe. In other words its user friendly even for a 1st machine.
Roni Li (quality: 0.4) 01.02.2010 Rating: 0.0
Bottom Line: Seems like a great machine... pity doesn't work
Ronald Fischer (quality: 8.0) 10.14.2011 Rating: 8.2
Bottom Line: Makes great espresso, slowly.
Roman Rakus (quality: 5.7) 03.01.2009 Rating: 9.6

Rom Lee (quality: 5.5) 02.03.2007 Rating: 8.8
Bottom Line: Not for the faint of heart.  Patience is rewarded with many pleasureable returns.
Robin Ingenthron 12.04.2012 Rating: 8.0
Bottom Line: Good if you pre-heat your cup (water in microwave).  Not quite hot enough otherwise.

Robert (quality: 2.0) 05.06.2000 Rating: 9.2

Bottom Line: The best of the best(for the price)
Raymond G (quality: 7.0) 12.26.2006 Rating: 8.8
Bottom Line: I like metaphors so here's how I'll summarize this. This machine is not a luxury sedan. It's like a Porsche. It's not comfortable and easy to drive, but once you get the hang of it, you'll find that you can soon be pulling shots like a pro barista.
Raul Estevez (quality: 0.2) 12.07.2003 Rating: 10.0
Bottom Line: For the price you you can't beat this quality Italian made machine.
R L Kesler (quality: 6.5) 04.17.2001 Rating: 10.0
Bottom Line: Superb machine and value, but does require solid technique.
Pierre Bellavance (quality: 3.0) 01.21.2005 Rating: 8.8
Bottom Line: Excellent machine for the home, if you can't (or won't) have a plumbed in machine.
Petey Overton (quality: 1.5) 10.25.2010 Rating: 10.0
Bottom Line: Happy, great machine, well built, nothing wrong, no defects, no mishaps, macine reads your mind, perfection, everyone should own one! grind your own beans. I will roast soon.
