A true benchmark machine, this machine made Rancilio a lot of money since it was introduced in 1998 - it has become the standard against which all other consumer, single boiler machines are measured against. Currently in its 3rd revision.
Roni Li (quality: 0.4)
Bottom Line: Seems like a great machine... pity doesn't work
Steve Edelman (quality: 1.0)
Bottom Line: Avoid Ranchilio - Flawed construction
Lou (quality: 3.8)
Bottom Line: Very disappointed. Inconsistent performance and sour/bitter coffee.
Dan Roth (quality: 3.0)
Bottom Line: I have taken it to get repaired and will do another review after that.
Dennis O'Hara (quality: 3.3)
Bottom Line: Overpriced
Carl Scott (quality: 1.2)
Bottom Line: Seems well-built, but espresso is very disappointing, with nearly zero crema, no matter what I tried. Not worth it, a $100 Krups out-performs it. Good at frothing, but not great. Thumbs down.
Andrew Balfe (quality: 0.3)
Bottom Line: Good machine while it worked, wouldn't risk another one as it is too expensive for such a short life. Going back to Gaggia.
Craig Wagner (quality: 3.3)
Bottom Line: I don't recommend this machine or seller.
Boris Gershman (quality: 5.8)
Bottom Line: Despite a great reputation, I was unable to get a consistently decent shot from this finicky machine.
Cheri Berry (quality: 4.9)
Bottom Line: I'll give it another chance...
Jim Robins (quality: 4.0)
Bottom Line: Poor temperature stability, possibly a defective unit. Importer insists it is OK. If that is true, then this is not a good machine.
Bottom Line: The machine is okay but not worth the price. Would not buy an espresso maker on-line again.
Garth Watson (quality: 1.0)
Bottom Line: Rancilio Silvia
David Ellis (quality: 5.8)
Bottom Line: Obtaining Tolerable espresso wth the poor temp control is possible. Eventually I'll spend more $$ and get a better machine.
Bottom Line: Almost a brilliant machine - but what a major potiential weakness!! Buy it, but haggle hard as it is not quite as indestructable as the glossy brochures would have you believe.
Dave Mclennan (quality: 1.0)
Bottom Line: SAVE UP FOR A REAL MACHINE, JUST GOOD FOR STARTERS IN THIS HOBBY, WEAK PERFORMANCE
Henry Townsend (quality: 0.2)
Bottom Line: Next time I'll get another make.
Lars Opalinski (quality: 3.8)
Bottom Line: A great machine IF YOU INVEST IN A DECENT GRINDER WITH IT
Dan Pohl (quality: 5.5)
Bottom Line: Tempermental, Inconsistent machine that will force you to perfect your technique or go insane trying.
JB (quality: 4.8)
Bottom Line: Disappointed…Not sure whether the disappointment is primarily a function of poor Rancilio quality control or questionable business practices on the pa
