I don't like espresso, but I do like a cup of very strong coffee. For years my "perfect" cup of coffee was an elusive commodity, obtained more by accident than by design. That is, until I bought a Rancilio Silvia. Now, every cup is a delight. I can get that full bodied, rich, coffee taste without even a hint of bitter or sour oils. It is a delight.
It took a few attempts to determine my preferred combination of coffee amount, grind, tamp,
and run time, but once I stumbled on the right combination (right for me) duplication was easy, and is very consistent.
Additionally, I have discovered the Silvia's potential for kitchen counter alchemy. I use it for tea, making and frothing hot chocolate, making soup, even oatmeal. Anytime I need hot water, the Silvia is ready.
I paid $395 for my unit, delivered to my door. Set up was easy and the directions, in English, provided by my supplier were easy to follow. Overall, I am delighted with this machine. I would recommend one to anyone. |
