Detailed Commentary

A pump style espresso machine does three things:
Heat water
push the water through the tamped coffee
make steam.
This machine does all this well
Adding a thousand dollars to the price wont get you any better coffee. For what it is worth ..  My only experience with top end machine was at coffee bars in Italy some time ago.
This machine can make some noise, especially when set on a conventional counter top.
In my very humble opinion, take the thousand dollars you didn't spend on the machine and buy the best coffee you can get.
With this, you can get a rich brew with a thick crema ... but sadly .. no bragging rights.
I don't have any idea of the life of this machine but I guess I'll find out the usual way  ... won't I .
The addon drip pot  does a good job.
A good thing: if the coffee is a little cool The whole carafe can go into the microwave.
