I had (have, but broke) an original Faema Family - still the best machine for home use ever. Unfortunately the original is not available anymore, only some cheaper version from the Canada store. After comparing prices of the Gaggia Classic in stores and on the internet, I went finally with www.wholelattelove.com for my purchase. The transaction was easy and painless, it's a good website. A little finicky to find the pricematch part at first site, but after talking to them on the phone I found it on the last order page. The machine arrived very well packaged and complete. But the inside bottom part, below the water cup and the tray, is completely scratched. WholeLatteLove states that all Gaggia Classics are scratched inside - hard to believe. It looks more like somebody did not do there quality check. But they will replace the rusty screw on top of the machine at least - but still, it's another quality matter. So frankly I am not so sure if I bought the real deal or some Chinese copy, really. It's a little damper on an otherwise good experience.
